Around 7am Saturday morning, a box alarm was dispatched to Washington Township Fire Companies and Long Valley EMS and Rescue Team for a working fire in an attic on Fawnridge Drive. Schooleys Mtn Chief 1 and 2 arrived on scene and updated responding units of smoke showing from the attic and roof fan. Long Valley Engine 1-1 was the first due and crews entered the home and found heavy charring and extinguished a small pocket of fire in the ceiling and attic area. Crews checked for extension and later performed salvage and overhaul. Other units on scene were Schooleys Quint 3-9, Fairmount Engine 2-1 and Tender 2-7, and Long Valley Cascade 1-3. All crews left after approximately 2 hours and the fire is under investigation.
